A good value restaurant with an extensive menu.  It is best known for its fantastic wood fired pizzas, but also serves typical Savoyarde dishes of fondues, steaks and salads.  With an informal casual atmosphere, the restaurant is located just off the main square. Take the narrow lane past ‘Bar le Savoie’ and the restaurant is approximately 50m on the left.

Japanese takeaway located at the start of the Joux Plane road near the centre of Samoens. Offering great Sushi and other dishes and Japanese beer.

Contemporary but cosy restaurant, with an excellent level of French and European cuisine.  Opened by the owners of the popular Lou Caboens (Samoëns 1600). Situated on the main road into town past the Pharmacy.

Good value, informal and bustling restaurant, very popular with the locals. Main fayre of tasty Savoyarde dishes and superb pizzas.  This restaurant is situated just off the main street, along a boardwalk which goes behind the Newsagents.

A very good restaurant not to be missed. The chef is a true master, serving French and European dishes in a friendly atmosphere. This restaurant is located in the center of the village on a small street that runs behind Pellissier Sports.

Fantastic burgers, hot dogs and tapas. Take away or sit in at this great little restaurant with an American vibe. Located in the town centre opposite Hotel Les Glaciers.

A few minutes drive from Samoëns, this charming restaurant overlooking Lake Flerier in Taninges offers visitors excellent cuisine. The little menu changes often, but the dishes are always delicious and very well presented on the slate. The beautiful garden is a great place to eat in the summer and children are always welcome.

Charming and cozy restaurant, nestled in a small street in the center of Samoëns (from the main passage leading to the center, take the small lane in front of the Petit Casino – this passes between two stores selling regional products). With good value for money, this small restaurant offers a very good selection of savory and sweet crêpes . The cider is also delicious! Reservation essential.

Beautiful restaurant full of charm serving exceptional cuisine, including dishes from the region and elsewhere in France. Located on the same road as the Grand Massif Express (300m on the right from the cinema and the roundabout where Sherpa is located).

Au Relais Septimontain – 0033 (0)4 50 34 42 19     €€

A typical Savoyard restaurant, reasonably priced with friendly staff and good service.  Exit  the square past the Petit Casino, then continue straight past the Boulangerie Tiffanie.  Continue for about 100m and the restaurant is on your right.

L’accordeon, Bistrot Cantine – 0033 (0)4 50 89 94 20     €€

A very light and airy brasserie style restaurant with a great selection of bistro food. Choose from a full lunchtime menu or a more casual tapas style evening menu. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the decor is magnificent and they often have live music playing. A very popular and different eating experience in Samoens. There is also a large covered terrace at the front.   Situated in a great location, just off the main roundabout in the town centre and near the pharmacy.

Bar Le Savoie      

Bar / restaurant serving hot and cold snacks throughout the day, such as sandwiches, fries, burgers, lasagne, omelettes and crêpes, as well as drinks. With non-stop, efficient service, and very reasonable prices, this restaurant is the perfect place to eat at any time with the family. Located in the center of the village square. Does not take reservations but many tables are available inside and outside.

Great pizzeria, serving other dishes to take away or eat in. Small but cosy inside, there is also a lovely terrace in front. Located on the road between the Town Hall and the Crédit Mutuel bank.

A small restaurant with an extensive menu of pizzas and crêpes. Takeaway or dine in.   Located opposite the Grand Massif Express lift, next to the Boulangerie Tiffanie and a short stroll from the campsite.

Welcoming and warm restaurant, with a large wood fire and excellent home cooking. The Dutch owner and his team offer you a bit of everything – tapas-style snacks, large salads, wraps and a hearty and delicious rib of pork. With reasonable prices and a ‘cool’ vibe, this is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy après-ski before a meal. Located at the foot of the Vercland gondola, 2 km from Samoëns.

Small, relaxed restaurant with great service and selection of beers and wine.  Serves hearty, but very tasty cuisine – a mixture of Italian and French, specialising in pasta, meat and cheese dishes.  Follow the road between Credit Mutual and Bar le Savoie and it’s just on the right, near the large car park.

A lovely cosy bistro with a new menu each day. Limited choice, but excellent quality and a very popular spot. Booking almost essential. The owners specialise in using local and organically produced ingredients and very much enjoy taking time to explain to guests how and where the food has come from. A true delight, right in the centre of Samoëns, in the main square.

BARS – SAMOENS

Evil Monkey Pub – French owned bar renowned for its good selection of drinks, including local beers and a small snack selection. Open all night from 6 p.m until 1am (closed Monday and Tuesday). Located on the ground floor of a residence which is behind the Sherpa supermarket.

Red Rock Cafe- French run with an international clientele, a great atmosphere, cocktails and a late licence. Located  next to La Louisiane restaurant on the narrow lane Rue des Billets.

La Clarine – Small,  cosy and French owned and operated with a great terrace for people watching in the Summer!  Located along the main street into town, not far from the Pharmacy.

The Place2B – Very nice terrace bar with space inside too. Small catering platters also available. Located on La Grande Rue in front of Skiloc Jaÿ Sport.

Bar Samoëns – Right in the center of the village, this bar has indoor and outdoor seating. Drink only service and a big screen to watch all the big sports games.

Vin sur Vin – On the Joux Plane road near the village centre. Small and cosy, but beautifully modern wine bar offering small tapas selection too.

Le Kern – Apres ski bar at the foot of the Grand Massif Express. Open daily. Open for lunch and light refreshments afternoon and evening (closed). If you want to relax and chill after a day on the slopes, this is the place to visit.
